    This technical meeting has been developed to provide a comprehensive overview and the latest updates of PALMS*, encompassing the definitions and key characteristics for improved risk management, and the ability to gain a competitive edge in dynamic environments.

    This presentation provides a forward-looking perspective on the legacy EHS concerns and sets a reliable basis for strategic planning and is pivotal in guiding organizations towards sustained success.

    Introduction: Michael Johnson, CIH, PE, MS to provide the chapter with the following insight: 

    AIHA and ACGIH have launched a long-term initiative to elevate the risk-assessment abilities of our colleagues by providing FREE access to the education, tools, and resources needed to improve the accuracy of their own exposure judgments. This presentation covers why improved exposure assessment approaches are needed, resources to implement them, and the benefits to practitioners. 

    Mr. Johnson is a senior industrial hygienist with a diverse background in compliance and best practices in industrial hygiene, physical and process safety, and environmental science. He currently works as a consultant on industrial hygiene and safety management systems and as an adjunct lecturer for the City University of New York School of Public Health. He is the creator of the Sample Strategy Industrial Hygiene Modeler (SIHM), an open-source tool that simulates the performance of various exposure assessment sample strategies.

    Implementing a successful Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) can be a difficult undertaking, especially in complex environments such healthcare and biomedical research. Creating custom frameworks for Hazard Control and Incident Investigation can help EHS professionals implement and sustain these key HSMS elements. These frameworks allow EHS professionals to organize and communicate programs in a succinct and accessible format.
